Dear shining souls,

Yogi Bhajan brought kundalini yoga to the West in time to help us transition from one age to another. It’s said that we have transitioned from the Piscean Age to the Aquarian Age. Whether you believe in astrology or not (I’m not sure I do), I certainly feel a change has occurred in the last few years.

We have moved from a world in which seeking stimulants outside of ourselves (caffeine, drugs, alcohol) no longer seems to work. We have to go within.

We’ve transitioned from a world where physical ailments were most prevalent, to a world in which mental health + depression are becomes every day words + topics we discuss regularly.

The recent death of Robin Williams is an example of the above.

Yogi Bhajan said: In the Age of Aquarius, the depression and stress on mankind will tear up people who do not have the technical knowledge of self.

We can no longer hide from ourselves. It’s no longer OK to do things in a temporary, quick fix way. The planet, the people, our entire existence is crying out for something more permanent + stable. Something more authentic + long lasting.

This is exactly why quick-fix diets don’t work, mental health can’t be fixed just by using drugs, + we repeat the history of our own wars, again + again.

There is nothing to see outside of ourselves. We have to go within. We have to connect to a place within ourselves that is self-sustaining, shining + strong.

When we conquer within, we no longer need to conquer beyond ourselves.

It’s beautifully simple to know + so very difficult to live.

Kundalini yoga is a technology given to us to help us to achieve this. It creates space for + connects to the soul. It challenges the mind + body so that we can see what is truly there underneath it. We chant sat nam (truth is my identity) so that this can become the reality.

It’s not a quickfix. You have to commit + keep going. Over time it changes you. You open up. You let go. You are truthful.

You can have the deep joy of the experience of the infinite even in the saddest moments.

You can be conscious, present + aware. You can live each moment as it comes.

If you’d like to try some kundalini meditations you can check out my free meditations – there are loads of different ones to try depending on what you’d like to achieve – whether that’s opening the heart, healing or improving your self-authority.
