We all have these days where we just don’t feel good. It’s a struggle to get out of bed + hard to motivate yourself. We want to snap out of it, but we’re not motivated to. We might binge or food or drink or TV + try to zone out. Disconnect from life.

What if we engage more with life when we feel down instead of withdrawing?
What if we open ourselves up instead of closing off?
What if we connect to the infinite nature within ourselves + realise we are beautiful, bountiful + blissful?
Sure beats moping, right?
♥ BEATING THE BLUES
– KNOW YOU ARE SPECIAL –
Sweetpeas, you need to remember when you feel down that you are BEAUTIFUL + BRIGHT like a diamond.
You need to know that you are perfect + gorgeous + just right as you are.
– KNOW IT’S FINE TO BE DOWN –
You are completely within your rights to feel your emotions. Celebrate your ability to experience a range of emotions. You don’t need to be any different. See above, YOU are perfect! Good mood or bad.
– DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR YOURSELF –
When we feel down we have a tendency to do bad things to ourselves. We over-eat, over-drink or over-think or zone out completely.. We all have a vice we turn to when we feel blue.
Break the pattern. Do something completely different + wonderful for yourself. If you tend to over-eat, go for a walk + admire every pretty flower you see. Give yourself a make over + feel every stroke of the brushes + the feeling of your skin. Buy yourself the one guilty pleasure you rarely let yourself have + REALLY pay attention to enjoying it. PRACTICE YOGA. Breathe as if your life depends on it (it does, petal!) long + deep + oh-so-slow. Relish the feeling of your lungs filling + emptying.
– APPRECIATE HOW LUCKY YOU ARE-
Be grateful. Think of 1 thing that has been good about your day. Relive it deeply + truly + fully.
Think about what gorgeous gifts you have that you can share with others. Perhaps you are funny, or creative or SUPER-organised. Maybe you are really good at duvet days! What are you delightful at? Think about how gorgeously you can share your best things with the world.
– BELIEVE THIS TOO SHALL PASS –
All is coming, darling. This too shall pass. Like anger, hatred, ecstatic joy or all other emotions – this too shall pass. You are not your emotions. You are a fully formed, raw, wonderful human being + you will FEEL things. All these shall pass. But you are beautifully human, all the way through it.
